Job Creation

Updated: Apr 26, 2021

Wow, what a weekend. The logistics to be at two markets on one day really left me stretched thin on Saturday but it was so worth it. Ocean was a superstar at Cowhouse and even sent me update messages over WhatsApp so I don't worry. It was his first time using the Yoco Card Machine on his own and he managed just find. I am so proud of him.

I managed to give another person a job opportunity on Sunday. Let me introduce you to Gontse. His dad Suprise works for us at the guesthouse (Firwood Lodge) as our groundman and Gontse has helped us out in the past part time when we are very busy at Waterkloof Guest House. When I mentioned to my General manager that I needed a second set of hands he immediately thought of Gontse. While we were driving back from the market on Sunday Gontse told me that he has his certificate as a mechanic from TUT and he would like to work at a garage like BMW or Toyota. I told him to bring me his certificate and his CV and I will put in a good word for him at all the workshops near Menlyn. Wouldn't it be great if we can get him a job there...

My late father often tried to convince me to come and work at the guesthouses when I was younger and said, if your really want to make a difference in this world, create a business that creates jobs. I hope that Little B's Bubble Tea goes from strength to strength and that I will be able to create more jobs for many more people. Our country so desperately needs it.

We received a fantastic response at Market @ The Beach this weekend... We had our best day so far sales wise and it really gave us the 'high' of success we needed to carry on. We sold out on our litchi and blueberry rooibos bursting boba ice teas but not to worry, I am ordering more stock tomorrow. We only had 3 orders of the milk teas with tapioca and I am tempted to take it off the menu but I so want to keep Little B's Bubble Tea loyal to real bubble tea from Taiwan... Gonna reduce my batches of tapioca I make but don't worry... I will continue to educate South Africans about Bubble Tea, One market at a time. One job at a time. One Bubble Tea at a time.

Till next time

Little B
